Steeped in history, this fully restored Carousel Park consists of a 1928 Herschel-Spillman carousel, as well as five vintage kiddie rides, a 1934 Wurlitzer Band Organ, vintage arcade, outdoor stage and audience shelter, and rocking chair pavilion. There is fun for all ages here, with scenic Olcott Beach as a backdrop. There is no admission charge for the park, and tickets for rides are 25¢ each.

Harbor at Olcott Beach
Come to the harbor and marina, and watch the fishing charters come in with their catch. Here is where you can reserve a charter, or let your kids fish off the pier with a license. There are beautiful sailboats coming in and going out all times of day, at this scenic spot.
Van Horn Mansion
The stately turn-of-the-century Van Horn mansion is the perfect setting for your special occasion. Imagine the bride floating down the grand staircase crowned in light from the stained-glass domed skylight in the central foyer!
The Victorian design of the double parlors, central foyer, and dining room is spacious and open and can accommodate up to 80 people for intimate weddings, showers, anniversaries or any important occasion. the full catering kitchen and butler’s pantry streamline food service. Picturesque grounds and verandah are ideal for picture taking and outdoor events.
The mansion is open for guided tours every Sunday of every month (Feb. 28 - Dec. 12) from 1 PM to 4 PM. it is also available for rental for special occasions.
Step back in time at the Van Horn mansion Candlelight Tours held on October 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 21 & 22, 28 & 29 from 7-11 PM. Admission fee is $5.00. Call 778-7197 for more information.
A special Victorian holiday 1863 Candlelight tour will be held on Nov. 18, 19 and 20 from 7-10 PM. $10.00 Admission. Call 778-7197 for more information.
The annual “Carol Sing” in the Van Horn parlor will be held on Dec. 4 from 1-4 PM. Come and join the singing and holiday refreshments. The mansion is fully decorated for the season. Admission is nonperishable items for the food pantry.
Burt Dam and Fisherman’s Park
Located along Eighteenmile Creek, enter on Lockport-Olcott Road. Many thousands of anglers use the Fisherman's Park facility at Burt Dam, Town of Newfane, for gaining stream-fishing access to Eighteenmile Creek Chinooks, but there is a scenic hiking trail, and beautiful view of the Burt Dam. |
